Have a crochet project that has you stuck? Found a pattern you love but aren’t quite sure where to begin? Or maybe you have a work-in-progress that just needs a little guidance—and some motivation—to get moving again?
The Bring Your Own Project Crochet Workshop is an open, supportive crochet session designed to help you make progress on the project of your choice.
Bring your pattern, yarn, hook, and project materials, and we’ll help you work through questions, troubleshoot problems, understand unfamiliar instructions, or simply provide the encouragement you need to keep going.
Unlike our structured crochet classes, this workshop does not follow a set project or lesson plan. Instead, instruction and assistance are tailored to the projects and questions students bring to class.
What We Can Help With
Depending on your project, you can receive guidance with:
- Getting started on a new pattern
- Understanding pattern instructions and abbreviations
- Identifying where you may have gone wrong
- Correcting stitch-count problems
- Understanding unfamiliar stitches or techniques
- Choosing the appropriate hook or yarn for your project
- Gauge and sizing questions
- Increases, decreases, and shaping
- Working in rows or rounds
- Joining and assembling pieces
- Finishing techniques
- Getting that unfinished project moving again!
What to Bring
Please bring everything you need to work on your chosen project, including:
- Your crochet project or pattern
- Yarn required for your project
- Appropriate crochet hook(s)
- Stitch markers, if needed
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
- Any additional supplies required by your pattern
If you are working from a pattern, please bring a printed or digital copy of the pattern so we can help you follow the instructions.
Skill Level
This workshop is open to crocheters of varying skill levels; however, students should have a basic understanding of crochet and be comfortable with fundamental stitches.
Never crocheted before? We recommend starting with a beginner lesson before attending this workshop so you can learn the fundamentals and get the most out of your class time.
